Why does this exist?

PayMeAnyway.com is an internet experiment. Visitors can voluntarily send money to the creator without purchasing a product or service.

The project began as an experiment to see whether strangers on the internet would voluntarily pay someone for essentially nothing.

Specifically: I wasted about $10 on this domain. The mission is to get that money back — €9, give or take. After that, the experiment continues anyway.

Contributions may help fund independent internet projects, domains, servers and experiments.

PayMeAnyway is not a charity and contributions should not be represented as tax-deductible charitable donations.

But let's be clear:

You are not buying anything.
This is not an investment.
This is not a charity.

You're just paying me anyway.

In practice, contributions help fund servers, domains, and independent projects I build.

FAQ

What do I get?

Nothing.

Is this a charity?

No.

Is my payment tax deductible?

No claim is made that it is. Treat it as a voluntary contribution unless applicable law says otherwise.

Why should I pay you?

You probably shouldn't.

Where does the money go?

To me. In practice it helps fund servers, domains and independent projects I build.

Can I get my money back?

See the Payments & refunds page. Refund handling follows Stripe and applicable consumer payment rules. Do not assume a discretionary goodwill refund is guaranteed.

Is this serious?

Unfortunately, the payment processor is.
